Genitive

The genitive indicates the possessor of something ; it answers to the question "whose" (for people or things).

A noun in the genitive case can have the following functions :

	Sie ist ihres Erfolges gewiss.

prepositional adverbial	Examples
	Wegen des Lärms konnten wir nicht schlafen.
	Trotz seines Willens nahm er die Einladung an.

	Eines Tages kam er zurück.
	Meines Erachtens bist du daran schuld.

apposition	Examples
	Er fährt den Wagen seines Schwagers, des Mannes seiner jüngsten Schwester.
