Separable and inseparable verbs
In addition to the aforementioned prefixes, the first part of a compound verb can also be an adverb. The verb that derives is separable.

hin | hinstellen | Stell den Koffer hin! |
zurück | zurückkommen | Er kommt bald zurück. |
An adjective can also be the first part of a compound verb. The verb that derives is, as a general rule, separable.

Nouns appear more seldom. When this happens, some verbs are separable and some inseparable.
